Pacific Yew (Taxus brevifolia) is the main ingredient in our Montana Yewtip salve, lotion, tea, capsules and lip balm.
Yewtip contains Taxanes
Taxanes are naturally occurring compounds that promote healthy cell development and inhibit harmful cell replication. Yew is the only plant on earth that produces Taxanes!
How do taxanes work?
"Cancer spreads when cancer cells make copies of themselves. Taxanes disrupt the process that cells use to make copies, called cell division or mitosis. For this reason, taxanes are considered “mitotic inhibitors.
During mitosis, a single cell (the parent cell) copies its genetic material and splits into two identical cells (daughter cells). Taxanes prevent important structures called microtubules from allowing this split to happen. As a result, the parent cell dies." Cleveland Clinic
Montana YewTip Salve works best in early stages of external basal cell carcinomas and melanomas which are the most common forms of skin cancers. It is not as effective on external sarcomas.
Keeping the salve in direct contact with the cancer by applying a dab to a gauze or band-aid and changing the dressing daily is what works best. The healing process will take several months sometimes.
Adding YewTips to the diet using capsules, tincture or tea is helpful by getting the taxanes into the bloodstream which stimulates healing.
Using the salve for skin cancers that have been surgically removed speeds up healing considerably and reduces scaring.
Folks with the rare blood type B negative are sometimes allergic to YewTip Salve but we don't know why.
Other effective uses for YewTip Salve discovered over the years by family and friends has been for everything from diaper rash to hemorrhoids.
