This traditional herbal blend supports vitality, mood and occasional sleeplessness, while encouraging an overall sense of well-being.

  • Provides traditional nervous system support
  • Strengthens the glandular system, which may affect mood

HOW IT WORKS

This formula contains the same herbs found in Chinese Mood Elevator but in a highly concentrated blend. Traditional Chinese Medicine would consider this a “fire enhancing” combination to regulate and untrap the chi (vitality). Its Chinese name jie yu can be translated to mean “relieve anxiety and tension.”

According to Traditional Chinese Medicine, when the liver is functioning at its peak, positive mood may be maintained. Because the liver helps provide filtered blood to all cells of the body, liver health and function can greatly influence mood. Undesirable blood compounds must be properly neutralized by the liver. Chinese Mood Elevator contains Chinese herbs that help cleanse and support the liver.
Bupleurum is thought to strengthen the liver, providing a “yang” energy that the Chinese believe raises the chi (the body’s living force) in the digestive organs. Cyperus also influences the liver and improves digestion with its bitter and aromatic properties.

WHY MOOD ELEVATOR TCM?

Our Chinese herbal blends carefully follow the principles of ancient Chinese Medicine that have been practiced for more than two millennia. Mood Elevator orJie yu can be translated to mean “for support during anxiousness and tension.” These good-for-you herbs were selected for their many beneficial properties.

For more than 35 years, we’ve partnered with the same incredible vendor to collaborate with farmers in traditional communities to harvest only the finest herbs from China. And we’ve conducted multiple on-site audits throughout the years to re-verify the quality of both their facility and herbs. Our farmers are deeply attached to the land they have lived on and worked for generations, and they practice regenerative farming methods to preserve it for future use.

THE STORY BEHIND MOOD ELEVATOR TCM CONCENTRATE

Chinese Mood Elevator contains herbs that help cleanse and support the liver.

Cyperus goes back to ancient Egypt where it was cooked or served with honey. It is also used in Ayurveda. Bupleurum, or hare’s ear, grows in East Asia where it has been used in TCM for more than 2,000 years for detox support and moving chi. Asian ginseng root has been famous for centuries as it benefits both mental and physical health. Traditionally ginseng root was eaten to boost memory, mood, concentration and endurance. Platycodon originated in the meadows of China, Korea and Japan. TCM notes its ability to expel fluid and support respiratory health.

RECOMMENDED USE

Take 1 or 2 capsules with a meal daily.

According to Steven Horne

Mood Elevator is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formula that is used to relieve sagging energy (chi). It is helpful for sadness, depression, fatigue, insomnia and anxiety.
Unlike modern Western approaches to depression which focus on the neurotransmitter serotonin, Mood Elevator works in a holistic manner to relieve depression and sadness by balancing liver, digestive, intestinal and nervous functions.

The formula supports the liver, expels mucus and toxins from the liver and digestive tract, relaxes muscle spasms, stimulates circulation and energy and eases indigestion.

In TCM terms, it relieves sagging chi (or energy) and disperses stagnant chi. It also expels wind (constriction and spasm) and dampness (excess fluid).
So, it is useful not only for depression, but for congestion and sluggishness of the liver, abdominal bloating and pain, lymphatic congestion, anxiety and nervous tension and muscle spasms.

Suggested Use for the TCM formula

For depression and nervous problems, the recommended dose is 1 capsule twice daily.
For digestive upset, liver problems, etc. use 1 capsule daily.

Many people have been able to get off antidepressant drugs with this formula, taking the formula along with their medication, until they begin to feel better. They then gradually reduce the dose of their medication.

Never discontinue antidepressant medications abruptly.
Ideally, this process should be done under professional supervision.
